Inspiration for internationalisation…

IMG_1481 - ELOS tweedaagse maart 2016

…by Globi and a bit by go2b at the ELOS conference

A conference that was all about inspiration and exchanging experiences on internationalisation for the ELOS schools (ELOS is the internationalisation programme for secondary education in the Netherlands). Globi brought hands-on tools for educators to turn student exchanges into meaningful learning opportunities. A perfect opportunity to promote the go2b project and get these future go2b providers interested!

Go2b going global

Promoting the go2b project in India!

The go2b project partners are crossing European borders! This time it is Lisette from Globi who was invited by Eumind chair India Jessie Vas to promote the project in Mumbai, India. A group of eight female principals from schools all over Mumbai were eager to learn all about the project. How to recognise and certify the Indian students’ intercultural development? How to strengthen their position for university admission? How can Indian schools become part of this European project? These schools can’t wait for the project to go Global!

Jan Van B Mobility Makers – Erasmus +

Presentation by Jan Van Brabant College – Erasmus + Conference 1st December 2015

The Jan Van Brabant team are on the road again. This time brining Go2B to an Erasmus + conference. What are our intrepid explorers up to? They’re helping to promote Go2B to other interested parties. People that might want to use Go2B to enable mobilities in their own programmes!

Go, go Hans & Nicole.

‘Belt & Braces’ – Prepping Students for Intercultural Success

Here’s one of our Go2B working groups working hard. In the room we have Globi, Lambertus Scholen and Jan Van Brabant. On the 8th of December 2015, the working group got together to start looking at how students could be best prepared to get the most out of their intercultural exchange.

The team have been reviewing a wide range of existing intercultural resources as well as bringing in their own material to create a ‘quality’ set of preparatory resources for Teachers and Students before they go on their exchange. If you’re going to do an exchange you may as well help the Students to get the very best out of that opportunity! So that’s exactly what we’re doing.

Those resources are then going to be built into the digital badge tasks AND be available in the Times Educational Supplement resource bank so lots and lots of Teachers and Students get the benefit of all of this good Erasmus + funded work!

More updates to follow.

Go2B great!

A Motley Crew – The Go2B ‘Kick Off’ Meeting

Plotting in Westerlo

The Go2B ‘Kick-off’ Meeting took place between the 30th September – 2nd October 2015 in Westerlo, Belgium. Hosting the Go2B project team were our project partners Sint-Lambertus school.

It was a great opportunity for us all to get together in person. Video conferencing is good but nothing beats getting around a table with flip-chart paper and a handful of marker pens.

It was an intensive couple of days where we clarified our intellectual outputs (ate lovely pastries), honed our delivery timetable and started exploring our understanding of intercultural competence (a very big topic calling for even more pastries). It’s going to be a tough ask to try and define, then badge something which isn’t a clear-cut ‘obvious’ set of skills. But we’ve definitely got the right people with the right experience in the room and we’re off an doing it. Wish us luck!

As if that wasn’t enough we also started discovering more about digital badges with DigitalMe taking the partners into a whole new world of online discovery. Lots of questions asked and lots of learning done.

On we go Go2B partners!

Getting to Know You – EFIL & Go2B

EFIL ‘Gatecrashes’ Go2B Kickoff Meeting

No they didn’t really gatecrash.

Elisa Briga was in fact our very special guest. Elisa joined us from the European Federation of Intercultural Learning (EFIL) to attend our Go2B ‘Kick-off’ conference in Westerlo, Belgium on the 29th August 2015.

Elisa presented on the aims of EFIL and an overview of possible cooperation with Go2B (on general activities and on the Open Badge project in the Youth sector where EFIL is involved). We’re really keen to work with other European badging projects like Elisa’s to create opportunity and learning pathways for young people right across Europe. Connected thinking and doing!

Since the meeting we’ve already been chatting about a variety of badge related developments, when we’ve any more collaboration news to announce, you’ll see it here first!
